Modenzeitung fürs Deutsche Haus 20/1936

That´s what it is, I guess. It came without a cover but with all the patterns, so I don´t mind. It also seems like the magazine kept at least one kid entertained ;)

I freaked out a bit when I saw les PANTS! I´ve been
on the hunt for a pattern for ages so this was a great
surprise.

  1. These are lovely, but is isn't 'Deutsche Moden-Zeitung', but 'Modenzeitung furs Deutsche Haus', as it says on the first page. I noticed that the sizes weren't by bust 88cm, 92cm etc but rather size I, II, III etc so checked my magazines and I have a few of this publication from the same era :-)

  2. Oops, that´s my mistake! For some reason I thought they were the same and that Deutsche Modenzeitung was the later name. I never realized both magazines were sold at the same time. Thanks for pointing it out, I´ll fix it right away :)

Btw, I have another issue (18/1934) coming soon. Also no cover ;)

  3. Yes, my earliest Deutsche Moden-Zeitung is from 1928, so they can't be the same publication.

Great :-) I am slowly scanning mine to share.

Not sure if you've seen my blog giveaway? http://sew-something-vintage.blogspot.com/2012/01/happy-new-year.html

  5. @Claire I did, I did, and I was tempted! But then I thought that I should leave the giveaway to those who have a harder time finding german patterns :)

@Christina To be true, I got it for 1€ on ebay Germany. Must have been the missing cover or something, because I got another issue without cover for the same price. Most of my magazines are real bargains, but it takes a lot of patience :)

  6. Oh my word, these are lovely! Please tell me you plan to make up some of these outfits. I want to point out my favorites, but that would be nearly all of them ;)

  9. Don't know if this will reach you, but..

I am trying to find information out about these magazines. I have some small reproductions of the patterns from Moden-Zeitung fur deutsche haus, but have never seen one of the magazines in person. I'm trying to track some down to purchase, but just wanted to get an idea of what I am looking for. Does this magazine you are posting from have the fold out pattern layouts?

    Thanks!

    3. Is there any way you might be able to upload an image of one of the fold out patterns? If it's too much trouble I understand, my employer is just hoping to get as clear of an idea as he can of what exactly we are looking to get.

      Thanks again!
